Living Our Values Through Community Service

Interra Volunteers at My Sister’s House Kitchen

At Interra International, our core values—committing to the team and each other, mastering executional excellence, fostering cooperation, and insisting on integrity—are not just words on paper. They shape how we work, lead, and connect with the world around us. And sometimes, they guide us outside the office entirely.

That’s exactly what happened when a group of Interra team members spent the morning volunteering in the kitchen at My Sister’s House, a branch of Atlanta Mission that provides shelter, meals, and long-term recovery support to women and children experiencing homelessness. Our team helped prepare and serve meals—simple tasks, but ones filled with purpose, care, and impact.

As trays were filled and food was passed from hand to hand, it was clear this was more than just a meal. It was an opportunity to serve, to listen, and to be present. These moments reflect something we hold close at Interra: the belief that committing to the team and each other doesn’t stop at our desks. It extends into how we show up for our communities.

From the very start of our visit, there was a sense of shared purpose—both within our group and with the incredible staff at My Sister’s House. The environment was welcoming and mission-driven, and our team was proud to contribute to a space built on compassion and dignity.

The experience reminded us that some of the most meaningful impacts come from the smallest actions. A few hours in a kitchen. A hot meal shared. A smile or a thank you. These are the moments that build connection—and that deepen our understanding of what service and leadership really mean.

We’re grateful to Atlanta Mission for the work they do every day, and for allowing us the chance to be a small part of it. We look forward to continuing to support their mission and others like it in the future.
