Community Service Spotlight: Meals on Wheels Atlanta
In March, Laura Polo, Susana Arbelaez, Cindy, and Jessica Isaf volunteered with Meals on Wheels Atlanta (MOWA), delivering frozen meals to 14 seniors across the city. Meals on Wheels Atlanta is a nonprofit organization that supports seniors who are struggling with social isolation, hunger, and varying levels of food insecurity. Many recipients of the Meals on Wheels food boxes solely rely on volunteers like us for access to food. This is a small, but impactful way to support our community and is something that you can easily do with friends and family, whilst giving back to others in need. This cause is near and dear to our hearts.
If you would like to pack food boxes, deliver frozen meals, or support the stocking of the MOWA emergency food pantry, check the link in the sidebar for more information. When you sign up, if you want to deliver on Interra’s route, make sure that you mention that you are with Interra International. Thanks to all who used their Volunteer Paid Time Off benefit to support this “Pay It Forward” service event.
If you are not sure about what charity to support and want to use a portion of, or your total, 8 hour Volunteer Paid Time Off benefit, see your Human Resources Team. We have a list of local charities that can help you in your search.
Not sure how to take advantage of this benefit? No worries! All you need to do is get your manager’s approval for the time that you will be out of the office, record your time out in your iSolved calendar, and then please send the HR Team an e-mail. They will need to know that you had the time off approved, the name of the charity you are supporting, and how many hours you are using for Volunteer PTO. If you happen to use less than the hours initially dedicated to service, make sure you follow up with Human Resources, so that they can update the hours in iSolved for you.
