Summer Internship

This year, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting four talented Interns who have contributed to successes across various departments:

• Christina Corser in Human Resources
• Udi Gitau in Accounting
• Emely Callejas in Credit & Risk Management
• Lucca Reymar in Operations

Our interns have shown dedication and skill in various tasks, including managing front office duties, assisting with administrative tasks, organizing financial documents, updating our systems with information, auditing data, and maintaining our shared drive of information where needed. Here’s what our interns said about their experiences:

“I really enjoy keeping myself busy organizing important financial documents and ensuring that we have all our accounting policies and procedures in one centralized place. I have been able to understand what managing finances within a business atmosphere truly means and the sheer amount of checks we have to ensure that the cash flow is closely managed.”

“I have gotten to experience what it is like to be part of a company and a team of people who work together and rely on one another. There wasn’t a moment where I felt I wasn’t doing anything, yet I never felt overwhelmed in any way for my day to day tasks. This internship has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of the professional world and my career aspirations for the future when I enter full-time employment.“

“So far I’ve enjoyed my experience and I’ve definitely learned a lot. I work in two departments, logistics and compliance and I usually split my day between the two. In logistics I’ve been updating and confirming departure dates using the shippers’ websites, as well as helping lighten the load of updating booking information on Induveca orders. In compliance I’ve been uploading dummy BLs into AES, and I just got started in making shipping instructions from final BLs.“
