In 1991, President George Bush signed an official proclamation designating September as National Rice Month. Rice is one of the highest produced grains worldwide. There are 4 main types of rice… white, brown, black, and red rice. In the United States, rice is primarily grown in six states:
- Arkansas
- California
- Louisiana
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- Texas
