The Role of Our Global Compliance Team
Imagine waking up each day knowing you will interact with domestic and international vendors, customers, service providers and government agencies and, play a key role in the ever-expanding global food trade. Sounds exciting, overwhelming, but most of all, very interesting. Welcome to the world of Global Trade Compliance at Interra International. We are a global food distribution company, importing and exporting food products all over the world. Our compliance specialists manage the process of creating, receiving, verifying, and sending out the documentation necessary to clear the goods at their destination. We deal with commercial documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.). We handle the title documents (bills of lading) as well as the government- and third party-issued documents (USDA health certificates, halal certificates, certificates of analysis and many more).
Our dynamic team of compliance specialists must manage the documents in a timely manner before the arrival of goods. We manage the cutoffs with the ocean carriers, receive the documents from vendors and other service providers, and collaborate with our internal teams to receive necessary information to complete our job. All of this information is then assembled to create the documentation package that is sent overseas to the destination and used to clear the goods.
Our Compliance team speaks many languages and knows how to communicate with people in all corners of the world. Some joined Interra as seasoned professionals, already armed with knowledge of international trade documents and tools such as letters of credit. Some came to Interra with no related work experience, and some actually joined part-time while finishing up their degree. It’s a great group and I’m proud to call them my team.
If you are looking for a fast-paced, dynamic, always innovative and collaborative environment where you will be challenged, grow within the organization, and get to experience the culture that is Interra, then contact us today at email@example.com.
